William's LEGO MOCs and Reviews

LEGO has posted a teaser on social media for what is said to be another Nintendo set. Enhancing a still from the video shows a cube with question marks on its faces: I don't know whether it's showing the set, or just providing a clue to it. View the video after the break then let me know what you think down in the comments.

Here's the press release for the 37th LEGO Ideas set: 21329 Fender Stratocaster, rated 18+, 1,074 pieces $99 / £89 / €99 / 159.99 AUD / 139.99 CAD Available from 1st October at LEGO.com The LEGO Group announces the new LEGO Ideas Fender Stratocaster set – created by LEGO Ideas fan designer Tomáš Letenay. The iconic Fender Stratocaster guitar, famously played by music legends and emerging artists alike and the industry standard guitar sound for music across genres, has now been meticulously reimagined in LEGO bricks. Whether you are an old school rock and roll fan, an indie rock, R&B or heavy metal lover or just passionate about music, the LEGO model of the 1970s Fender Stratocaster is sure to be a crowd pleaser and includes the option to either build a red or black version of the iconic guitar.

A very dodgy-looking website of a Malaysian toy shop has revealed another Christmas seasonal set: 40499 Santa's Sleigh. Given the dubious provenance I wasn't going to post it, but most other fan media sites have now done so, so I might as well! It's such an obvious thing to make a model of that it's surprising it's not been done before. I am sure it will fly off the shelves when released, which presumably will be October 1st.

During August I went a little project-crazy. While continuing the Dreamliner, I also have built models from 'Jungle Cruise', The Hobbit, and World War I, as well as a miniature camera. After finally learning how to actually use my camera, I am proud to present some pretty high quality pictures.

LEGO has unveiled another football stadium! 10284 Camp Nou, rated 18+, 5,509 pieces $349.99 / £299.99 / €329.99 Available now at LEGO.com, with 40485 FC Barcelona Celebration as a GWP. The new LEGO FC Barcelona Camp Nou set allows you to create a spectacular 5,509-piece model that is sure to take center stage in any fan’s home.

Japanese retailer Yodobashi has published pictures of another Tumbler! The 422-piece 76239 Batmobile Tumbler Scarecrow Showdown, which is released on 1st October, looks to be minifig-scale and comes with Batman and Scarecrow minifigs. It's priced at 6000 yen, which is about £40 / $55. Unfortunately the images are miniscule so it's not possible to discern much detail.

Amazon Japan has revealed a new version of Batman's Tumbler! The 2,049 piece 76240 Batmobile Tumbler will be released on the 1st of November. The price in Japan is ¥25,330 which is about $230 / £165. At first glance it looks very similar in size and design to 2014's 76023 The Tumbler, but I'm sure there are many improvements under the hood that utilize new parts and building techniques. It comes with a rotating display stand and Batman and Joker minifigures, which are unique to this set.

LEGO has posted a teaser video that provides further proof that a model of FC Barcelona's football stadium, Camp Nou, is set to be revealed, and perhaps released soon. Watch the video after the break and stay tuned for more information!

LEGO China and Caterpillar China have published the first images of the Technic 42131 Cat D11 Bulldozer that's due for release on October 1st. Google's poor translation of the posts reads as follows: "A replica model of the largest Cat bulldozer to date. Through the CONTROL+ app, you can control its walking and steering, and even the movement of blades, rippers and ladders."

Following their early appearance in a LEGO catalog during December, official images of the upcoming Eternals product range have been published by Yahoo Entertainment! Unfortunately, their resolution is fairly low, but these images are clearer than the existing catalog photos and prices have now been confirmed. Four sets are included, ranging in size from the small 76145 Eternals' Aerial Assault to the spectacular 76156 Rise of the Domo, which contains 1040 pieces.

Details of three of this year's Christmas sets have been revealed at LEGO.com today: We now have better images of the fourth and final seasonal vignette/animal set for the year, 40498 Penguin. 40494 Polar Bear & Gift Pack is another hanging ornament set, the second Christmas-themed one after last year's 854050 Snowman & Reindeer Duo A polybag, 30580 Santa Claus, has been listed at LEGO Customer Services but without an image or inventory, so we'll have to wait and see exactly what it is, but I suspect it'll be a buildable figure similar to others like 30573. The first two will be available at LEGO.com from 1st October.

Following the discovery   of   77941   Mighty Dinosaurs and   77942   Fiat 500 on the LEGO instructions portal, two more revised versions of existing sets have been uncovered. The first is 77940 Mighty Dinosaurs, a third variant of 31058 Mighty Dinosaurs which was released during 2017. 77944 Fire Station Headquarters also takes inspiration from a previous set: 60110 Fire Station from 2016. However, this example introduces changes besides cosmetic ones, containing different minifigures and changing parts of the building .

After much deliberation, I have come to a decision, the livery for my Dreamliner is going to be changed. Originally planning to do a Japan Airlines 787, I have since stumbled upon vector drawings of an Emirates 787-8. Now, I know that Emirates doesn't operate the -8, so this will be a sort of "what if" model. Aside from that, I have made some major progress on my 787 MOC that I wanted to share.

LEGO has just lifted the invisibility cloak off a very unusual Harry Potter set, which celebrates the 20th anniversary of the theme. Here's the press release: 76391  Hogwarts Icons Collectors' Edition ,  3010 pieces rated 18+ $249.99 Available from 2nd September at   LEGO.com .

Marvel.com  has revealed the minifugures and builds of 76196 The Avengers Advent Calendar, which will be one of five calendars available this year, joining the usual Star Wars, Harry Potter, City and Friends ones. Among the 24 models are minifigs of Tony Stark, Spider-Man, Nick Fury, Black Widow, Captain Marvel, Thanos and Thor. You can view a photo showing them all after the break.

10271   Fiat 500 was released last year, featuring a bright light yellow color scheme.   PromoBricks   has found evidence that the set will be re-released in another color, from   this publicly-available safety document . No external changes are apparent and the piece count of 960 appears to remain the same too. I believe the color is most like bright light blue, although medium azure is probably more likely given the wide range of available elements in that color. You can view a blurry image of the new model, taken from the above document, after the break...

July was spent finishing my Boeing 737-800 MOC (now up for voting on LEGO Ideas ), not finishing the sorting that was supposed to be done a month ago, and starting my next big project. Sadly I was not able to make any progress on TheBus and, due to a potential overall cost of 200-300 (US) dollars, I am unsure of whether it will be finished.

LEGO has released official images of 75319 The Armorer's Mandalorian Forge on LEGO.com. The set includes 258 pieces and will be available on the 1st of September, costing $29.99 USD.

Following considerable anticipation, LEGO has revealed 71031 Marvel Collectable Minifigures! This series contains twelve minifigures, taking inspiration from WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki and What If...? on Disney+. View the official character names and additional images after the break...

The  August store calendar for the USA   has revealed that   40487   Sailboat Adventure will be a GWP (gift with purchase) from the 1st to the 29th of August when you spend greater than $200. The model is based on the winner of last year's LEGO Ideas  Build that holiday contest  by  yc_solo  entitled  Sailing Ship Adventure . As you will see after the break the finished model is very similar to his original submission. It's a hefty threshold, but there will be plenty of new releases available at the start of the month so spending that much shouldn't be a problem!
