LEGO CON 2021....rant time

 

LEGO Con 2021 was, as expected, an utter disappointment. No UCS Gunship reveal, no life-sized Lambo v. Bugatti race, and dozens of massive cringe moments all made for a disappointing experience. Oh, almost forgot, the stream crashed TWICE.

Lets start with the pros of LEGO Con:

1. Decent pre-stream interviews with cool AFOLs (Adult Fan Of Lego)
2. Plenty of opportunities to laugh at TLG
3. Next LEGO Ideas set revealed
4. Minecraft fans could vote on the next new LEGO Minecraft skin
5. Ummm........there is no number five

Yeah, thats pretty much it for pros. Here's the new Ideas set;

Yup, thats right, its a foosball table designed by 16 year old fan Donat Fehervari.

There were three choices for the Minecraft figure, the Ninja, Warrior, and Ranger. You can vote over on TLG's Twitter page (hey LEGO I could use an affiliate link right about now).

Now the cons:

1. No UCS Republic Gunship reveal, just the Mando set we definitely didn't see weeks ago
2. Cringe-worthy hosts
3. L.L.A.M.A just being on set is a con
4. The astronaut from the NASA interview wasn't in a spacesuit
5. The stream crashed twice and glitched every 10 seconds
6. TLG did a Super Mario advert. with the worst dance ever
7. The Mando and Ahsoka costumes for the Star Wars "reveal" were trash
8. The Technic team raced the 42114 Volvo dump truck instead of their life-sized Lamborghini and Bugatti
